Human-Robot Collaboration

Definition of methods and tools for human-robot collaboration to enable an effective cooperation between humans and machines, to complement human capabilities and relieve people of arduous tasks. The research focuses on combining cutting-edge robot technology and end-user requirements for improving manufacturing processes and creating a more efficient integrated system. For this purpose, activities aim at developing new ways for humans to cognitively and physically interact with robots (gestures, touch commands) and new modes for robots to autonomously navigate in the factory, to pick up the required parts and tools, or prepare for tasks, also supported by Robot-in-the-Loop simulations (RIL).
